Gasher Creek was a Western-thriller in search of a permanent cover when I first picked up the book on a whim (I had found J. Birch's blog through Twitter and thought I'd give his fiction a try). The novel was phenomenal. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to offer my services to J. He wanted an iconic cover that would grab readers. I wanted to express the sheer unsettling energy of the novel. The Gasher Creek cover was born out of the idea to use a wanted poster as a frame for a hand grasping toward a gun.

This cover already has a story to it, and you can read it here. If the design reminds you of a particular scene from the book, I would love to discuss it with you on Twitter.
